Word has it that an American SR71 crew reacted with disbelief when advised of potential conflicting traffic at around FL500 (50,000') over the Atlantic one day.
Given that airliners of the time typically operated at between 32,000' and (at most) 40,000' the SR71 crew weren't used to that kind of advisory from ATC and had just had their first experience of what Concorde could do - which presumably provided an interesting talking point in the Officers Mess when they had landed and debriefed.
Come to Machine Building North on April 10th and inspect Concorde G-BOAC at first hand. As well as taking in all the latest developments in machinery safety and advances in machine building and factory automation innovation, you can take a free of charge guided tour of Concorde.
And if you can tear yourself away from the interesting factory automation and machine building components being shown and demonstrated by more than 100 of the UK's top suppliers at Machine Building North, you can also take a free of charge ride in the Concorde simulator.
