Pilz has introduced a new PITgatebox and PITreader pushbutton control unit featuring an access permission system
Using individual RFID keys, staff can now authenticate themselves via the new Pilz PITgatebox with integrated PITreader. The unit provides a guarantee that only authorised staff can have access to a machine and that only they can implement control commands such as activate, stop or reset for it. In conjunction with the Pilz modular safety gate system, users can now combine other aspects of safety and security for comprehensive safety gate guarding with appropriate access permissions.
Numerous new types of the pushbutton unit PITgatebox are available, providing industry with an even more flexible approach to individual safety gate solutions. Pilz highlights a variety of key benefits available with the new PITgatebox and PITreader: a simple operating function, a reader complete with RFID key for activating the PITgatebox and an IP65 housing made from high-quality die cast zinc that delivers excellent resistance to shock, vibration and collision.
The units feature a slimline housing for space-saving installation on standard aluminium profile systems, and fitment flexibility is enhanced thanks to an integrated and rotatable mounting bracket. The company says that installation is also swift with no wiring required thanks to an M12 pin connection. Operation is by pushbutton and the unit is said to be versatile – it can be used with safety gate systems such as the Pilz’s popular PSENmlock or PSENslock, for example on sliding or swing gates.
