Machine Vision Conference showcases innovative technologies and industry leadership

The Machine Vision Conference (MVC), organised by Automate UK, has cemented its reputation as the machine vision sector's leading trade show with a memorable 2024 event.

Machine Vision Conference showcases innovative technologies and industry leadership

With an array of outstanding exhibitors and industry experts in attendance, this year's confex attracted significant numbers of visitors. People travelled far and wide to the CBS Arena between 18-19 June to discover the latest developments and innovations from the ever-evolving world of machine vision technology.

Established back in 2016, the annual MVC confex has earned an esteemed reputation for being the go-to event for machine vision users and engineers keen to learn more about the trends and technologies shaping the machine vision sector. The conference also regularly draws in people who are new to the industry and interested in gaining an understanding of the cutting-edge companies and products that are contributing to its success.

For the second year in a row, MVC was co-located with Automation UK, a two-day event where forward-thinking exhibitors can showcase their latest automation and robotics solutions to visitors and industry experts.

This year's exhibitor list featured a variety of industry-leading companies, including the likes of SICK UK, Clearview Imaging and Wenglor Sensoric. With both events hosted under one roof, MVC visitors had the opportunity to discover innovations within the automation and robotics sector as well as the machine vision space.

MVC 2024 was as fascinating as ever, with highlights including live demonstrations of state-of-the-art machine vision products, exciting product launches from innovative exhibitors and a series of insightful technical seminars. These presentations were delivered by industry experts with specialist knowledge of a range of key topics, such as AI, deep learning and high-speed imaging.

Dr Sven Peets, Senior Lecturer in Mechatronics in Agricultural Engineering at Harper Adams University, was impressed by the quality of the exhibitors and the networking opportunities at the confex. He said: "The show has been very good with some interesting exhibitors. I made some good contacts that will be useful for our teaching and research. Machine Vision is very relevant to what we do at Harper Adams, especially in the discipline I teach, agricultural robotics."

Bradley Ayres, Lead Data Scientist, Instrumentel, part of the Unipart Group, also visited MVC. He admired the innovative solutions that were on display and the convenience of having both MVC co-located alongside Automation UK.

He commented: "My team and I are interested in Machine Vision and the solutions it can provide for our customers. There is a lot of crossover between Automation and Machine Vision as one influences the other. Each new innovation in the vision sector potentially sparks new innovations in Automation, and that's why we are here."

Owing to the success of MVC 2024, many exhibitors are already showing an interest in securing their stand for next year's event, which will adopt a slightly different format. MVC will be renamed Vision UK and become fully integrated within Automation UK. As such, Automation UK 2025 will showcase the latest technologies from the world of machine vision, as well as the most cutting-edge automation and robotics innovations.
