Following the success of its 2012 machinery safety seminars, the Machinery Safety Alliance is planning to run a further four seminars in 2013, with the participation this time of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), rather than the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL). As in 2012, members of the alliance presenting at the seminars will be Pilz, Festo, Fortress Interlocks, Werma and Troax.
The dates and venues for 2013 are:
Attendance costs 70, for which delegates receive entry to the day-long seminar, a delegate stationery pack, food and drink throughout the day, a chance to speak with machine safety experts, and free access to the venue.
Tough economic conditions are likely to continue in 2013 but, when it comes to machine safety, there are important reasons to continue developing machinery safety competence. The need to comply with regulations is one but, more subtly, competence and safe machine designs can bring benefits through improved ergonomics, staff morale and productivity.
