Harting is introducing a new industrial Ethernet switch with an external configuration memory mounted in a standard Han 3A metal housing. In the event of the switch having to be exchanged during service, the memory remains in place and retains all the switch settings so that the new switch starts automatically with no need for a specialist to reconfigure or restart the switch.
Harting's mCon 7100 is a managed Ethernet switch for use in harsh industrial environments. It includes up to ten ports for connection over IEC 802.3 shielded twisted-pair cabling, and is compatible with both Ethernet (10 Mbit/s) and Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s).
Sealed to IP65/IP67, the unit is mounted in a robust die-cast metal housing and operates over temperatures from -40 to +70degC. Harting says it also meets the most stringent standards on electromagnetic compatibility and mechanical stability.
The mCon 7100 incorporates auto-crossing, auto-negotiation and auto-polarity management operations, and supports both SNMP and an easy web interface for management functions.
