SKF (U.K.) Limited has won marine certification from two of the world's leading approvals bodies for its extensive range of condition monitoring services. The certification has been awarded by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the DNV-GL ship and offshore classification society, and will enable SKF to strengthen still further its support to customers operating in both the marine and offshore sectors.
Ian Peverill, Head of Service Delivery at SKF, says: "This is a major milestone for SKF in the UK. We're delighted to be recognised by ABS and DNV-GL for the quality and proficiency of our condition monitoring services and systems. In particular, it's a great achievement for our operations and customer support teams across the UK, which have worked tirelessly through a series of demanding audits and reviews to ensure that we meet the standards demanded by these major certification bodies".
SKF already works closely with companies in the marine and offshore sectors, and these approvals will enable the company to offer an even higher standard of certified condition-based maintenance and monitoring.
Geraint Jones, Technical Manager at SKF, adds: "Companies operating in the North Sea and UK Continental Shelf are under considerable pressure to improve efficiencies and control costs. Our certified condition monitoring services and advanced monitoring technologies mean that we're able to help them achieve these goals through the strategic and proactive management of their machine assets, both locally and remotely in real tim".
SKF (U.K.) Limited offers a complete range of systems and services for the marine and offshore sectors, including application engineering, machine alignment, measurement and analysis, installation, asset management and training.
