Materials advice from Matmatch at Hannover Messe
Design engineers and product designers will be able to gain invaluable materials advice at this year's Hannover Messe thanks to materials comparison site Matmatch. The company will be exhibiting in hall two on stand A52 alongside regional support network Bayern Innovativ.
At the event, Matmatch is inviting visitors to the show to demonstrate its online materials database, which allows users to easily search and compare materials and their properties free of charge. The database currently has over 90,000 materials from suppliers such as Alcoa, ThyssenKrupp, VDM Metals and Plansee.
The start-up, based in Munich, will be in good company at the show. Hannover Messe has over 5000 exhibitors, including some of the largest names in the engineering industry, and welcomes around 220,000 visitors from across the globe every year.
This year, one of the key topics at the fair will be the components that drive industrial digitalisation. Components often need to be lightweight or have specific properties to allow them to fit into the smart factory of the future. With so many materials to choose from, design engineers may be overwhelmed, which is where Matmatch's database can help them to sort by the material's properties, form and applications.

Matmatch also invites suppliers who are interested in being featured on the site to visit the stand, to discuss the benefits of participating in the database with the company's management and to see how it functions for themselves.
