Matthew Dean is the Sales Engineer with a focus on the medical sector. He has worked for almost 20 years in the precision drives business. Matt was educated at Portsmouth University and has experience in both the high-volume and high-precision OEM environments.
DC drives for space and aerospace applications must withstand high-temperature variations, have a long life span and be very reliable. maxon aerospace specialises in the development of DC motors that withstand temperatures of -55degC to +85degC and the extreme vibrations during take-off and landing. maxon is certified under the aerospace standard EN 9100.

Andrew Gibson has 27 years' experience in the engineering environment. He completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship at Reliance Precision and achieved the BTEC HNC. He then continued his studies achieving MSc in Manufacturing, Management and Technology. Andrew has 12 years' experience in a Sales environment dealing with a wide range of markets and specialises in aerospace and defence.
People are increasingly using electrical power for personal transportation and for moving goods, creating new requirements for drive technology. Microdrives by maxon are designed to master demanding automation applications. They have high power density and high torque density. Also, they accelerate extremely fast, are efficient and feature a long life span.

Greg Dutfield is the Senior Sales Engineer aligned with the Transportation and Industrial Business Units. He achieved an HNC in Electrical Engineering at Langley College before completing an apprenticeship. Greg has been working in the electric motor industry for over 35 years and for most of that time has specialised in the small DC motors and gearbox market.
Martin Leahy has recently joined maxon as the primary Sales Engineer in Ireland. Martin worked previously as a Design Engineer in the agricultural and power transmission industries. He has a Mechanical Engineering and Masters (MSc) degree qualifications from the Institute of Technology, Carlow. Contact Martin on [email protected]
Supporting the Sales Engineers are Technical Engineers, Patrick and Amir. Amir is also maxon's controller expert in the UK and Ireland.
Amir graduated in BEng Mechanical Engineering with first-class honours. He did a year's placement as a Design Engineer for factory automation before joining maxon as a Technical Engineer. Amir specialises in speed and positioning controller technology.
Patrick studied Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Portsmouth. Thereafter joined maxon in 2016 as a Technical Engineer, working closely with customers to support and guide them to select the right drive system for their applications.
