MEGATRON kit encoders are a true alternative to encoders with integrated shafts

MEGATRON's shaftless magnetic angle sensors are cost-efficient, low-maintenance and free from mechanical wear. Even so, many users still opt for encoders with shafts out of concern about potential integration risks. To address this, MEGATRON provides design engineers with comprehensive support in specifying and installing its kit encoders.

MEGATRON kit encoders are a true alternative to encoders with integrated shafts

Kit encoders, i.e. bearingless encoders, offer a number of advantages over encoders with shaft bearings. Their mechanical service life is virtually unlimited; they require very little installation space and are significantly more economical. This applies not only to purchase costs, but also to operating costs, since the absence of an integrated shaft and bearing arrangement makes kit encoders particularly low maintenance.

MEGATRON supports design engineers both in selecting the right sensor and in addressing issues such as magnet dimensioning, defining centring and tilt tolerances, and evaluating magnetic field reserves. The company's services also include a straightforward "field budget" analysis for useful and interfering magnetic fields.

For example, the magnetic kit encoders in the ETx25K and HTx25K series combine robust sensing technology with an integration concept suited to a wide range of applications in mechanical engineering and medical technology. Both product families are exceptionally durable, precise and compact. Depending on the version, the kit encoders can withstand interfering magnetic fields with strengths far above the typical requirement of 5 mT.

MEGATRON offers the ETx25K and HTx25K in a range of versions, including absolute and incremental encoders. The absolute versions cover measuring ranges of up to 360 degrees with a resolution of up to 18 bits in the single-turn version (SSI). In the multiturn version, measuring ranges of up to 200 revolutions are available with a resolution of 12 bits (analogue).

In their incremental versions (ETI25K/HTI25K), the encoders are available with TTL, push-pull or open-collector output electronics. They provide A, B and Z (index) signals and support 1 to 10,000 pulses per revolution, with the pulse count freely configurable at the factory.
