Mobile robots with 500kg payload - transport anything, anywhere

The MiR range of advanced mobile robots from RARUK Automation continues to play a significant role in the company's ability to engineer collaborative automation systems that optimise workflows, release staff resources for more valuable tasks, shorten delivery times and reduce costs. And now, with the addition of the new MiR500, RARUK Automation has even greater flexibility to optimise logistics throughout the entire production chain.

Mobile robots with 500kg payload - transport anything, anywhere

With a maximum payload of 500kg, the MiR500 is designed to automate the transportation of pallets and heavy loads. With a 500kg load capacity, maximum speed of 2m/s and a footprint of 1350 x 920mm - sufficient to transport a standard Euro pallet - it is the largest, most powerful and fastest MiR in the RARUK Automation fleet.

Equipped with the latest laser-scanning technology that provides 360 degree vision for optimal safety, the MiR500 automatically manoeuvres around people and physical obstacles. It also autonomously navigates to find the most efficient path to its destination. When it meets any obstacle, it automatically re-routes to avoid costly lags in the logistics process. The on-board 3D cameras have a range of 30-2000mm above floor level to detect objects.

As with the other models in the range, there is no need to change the layout of the warehouse or factory to operate the MiR500 because guidewires, magnets and QR codes are replaced by sophisticated navigation software. Users simply download CAD files of the facility to the robot or use its laser scanners to create a map. It is simple, quick and highly cost-efficient.

The new MiR500 is compliant with ISO/EN 13849 and fulfils the EMC requirement for industrial and light industrial use. This is the most robust model in the range. It can withstand dropped cargo and navigate itself up and down ramps and even through shallow puddles.

Control with the intuitive MiR robot interface via smartphone, tablet or PC is easily programmed without any prior experience and the robot can also be integrated into an ERP system for a fully automated system.

With the ability to quickly and easily integrate different top modules, the MiR500 can be equipped with a pallet left, conveyors, a robot arm and other options to support a wide range of applications. Indeed, many of the MiR-based systems that RARUK Automation has supplied to date, with the established MiR100 and MiR200 models, have included a Universal Robot arm, also available from RARUK Automation.
