Modular signal towers are brighter, with new buzzer technology

The maintenance-free LED light modules are up to twice as bright as previous models, often enabling customers to specify a smaller diameter tower. They give even visibility through 360 degrees. Up to five modules can be chosen with the colours red, amber, green, blue and white, and all can be illuminated continuously or flashing. The colour sequence can be changed by a simple twist-and-lock process, even after assembly, as the wiring does not need to be altered. A smooth external surface avoids dirt traps.

Patlite has also introduced new technology for the audible alarm buzzer. This is an optional plug-on module that sits on top of the tower. There are four selectable sounds: rapid intermittent, continuous, rapid hi-low and a sweep sound. Output is 85-90dB at 1m and there is a 10dB sound reduction for use in quieter environments. Unlike previous designs, the LR series buzzer has a smooth external surface without openings, meaning that the high IP enclosure rating is not compromised. The sound output is non-directional through 360 degrees.

The LR modular range has models with 40, 50, 60 and 70mm diameters. Supply voltages are 24V DC or 100-240V AC. There are foot brackets for mounting to a flat surface, L-shaped brackets for wall mounting and poles from 100 to 1000mm high to raise the level of the tower. All have CE, UL and CSA conformity and enclosure protection to IP65 / NEMA 4X.
