Moorflex offers 'world-leading' range of gasket products
James Walker Moorflex manufactures what it describes as a world-leading range of gasket products used across the oil, gas, petroleum and chemical processing industries for reliable and trouble-free sealing wherever extreme operational demands are considered routine. Four of the company's product ranges demonstrate this clearly.
Metaflex Spiral Wound Gaskets will seal flanges where temperature, pressure, vibration and flow rates are beyond the capability of conventional jointing materials. Made in a wide variety of standard and non-standard sizes and shapes, with combinations of metal strip and filler selected to suit the specific fluid media and operating conditions, they are quick to install and remove.
Moorside Metal Ring Joint Gaskets are made in a choice of materials and styles to meet API, ASME, BS and DIN standards and are available verified to standards API 6A PSL4 for oilfield use and ASME B16.20 for general use. Providing excellent mechanical flange joints with exceptional thermal performance, they are precision machined for high performance standards using only the best forged metals and no welded rings. A stringent machining process is used to ensure that the highest tolerances and smooth contact surfaces are rigidly maintained.
Moorflex also produces precision machined metal gaskets in a variety of complex profiles and materials for many applications including both high-pressure and ultra-vacuum duties. Profile features include: a lens section's resistance to over-stressing, a convex profile for centralised loading of the gasket which is achieved by a reduction in loaded area, a wedge section for positively locating a gasket in a cylindrical application and weld ring gaskets for critical applications.
A fourth offering is custom-designed gaskets, from a simple flange gasket of compressed fibre, to a complex profile in high-strength alloy sheet, produced cleanly and accurately within minutes. Working from a customer's CAD files or samples, Moorflex can laser-cut mild steel to 20mm thickness and stainless steel to 10mm, and the company holds large stocks of alloys in stock. The swift sub-contract service is provided to numerous industries including fabricators, OEM companies and defence industry suppliers. Nesting pattern software ensures optimum material economy.
