More communications options for Simatic ET 200pro
Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is adding a new 154-8 CPU interface module to the Simatic ET 200pro distributed I/O system. This is not only program-compatible with the S7-300 CPUs, but also has high data retentivity and, therefore, improved backup performance.
The 154-8 CPU interface module has two communication options: one combined MPI/Profibus DP interface and one Profinet interface with three ports. The module can be used on a Profibus network as a master or slave, and on Profinet as a controller. Thanks to open Ethernet communication and isochronous mode on Profibus, the 154-8 CPU interface module enables reliable and high-speed data exchange. It also has time-of-day synchronisation via Ethernet as well as web server functionality for information, status and diagnostics.
