Mouser Electronics expands to South Korea

Mouser Electronics is opening its South Korea Customer Service Centre, located in Seoul. This new customer service centre will support local design engineers and buyers, helping them to locate the newest products for their newest designs. Mouser now has 22 offices worldwide, with nine locations in the Asia Pacific region.

Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser's Senior Vice President of APAC and EMEA business states: "In South Korea, our business grew over 170 per cent in the last five years, and our customer base grew 135 per cent. We are very excited about this exceptional growth and see a local presence as an important next step in this market for Mouser. We believe that this business growth is a result of our strategy of stocking and distributing the newest products first, as well as providing one-stop shopping with a fast delivery time, to give our customers a time-to-market advantage."

As the global authorised distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, Mouser provides design engineers and buyers with the easiest access to the newest products and comprehensive design resources. The Services and Tools site, available on Mouser.com, makes it simple for engineers and buyers to search for products, personalise their orders, and access their previous purchases, helping to speed time to market. With real-time availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the site's many resources offer capabilities that help customers in their design and creation processes.

Experiencing several years of record business, Mouser is ready for continued growth with a two-phase expansion under way at its worldwide headquarters. The first phase, completed in early 2016, has added 250,000 square feet (23,226 square metres) to the distributor's global distribution facilities. Burr-Lonnon adds: "Unlike many distributors, Mouser takes a centralised approach with a single warehouse that streamlines operations, helping our customers to get our vast selection of the newest products and overall inventory first and faster. This is one of the things that sets us apart and enables us to ship same-day to Korea, with arrival within three business days."

Mouser has been offering services to engineers in South Korea through its comprehensive website at Mouser.com, and through its other offices across Asia. A strong year-on-year growth validates the need for a local office in the region. The new office will better support existing customers while also enhancing Mouser's overall marketing efforts to serve new customers in the area. For more information, visit www.mouser.com.
