Mouser Electronics signs global agreement with Microsemi

Mouser Electronics, Inc., is entering into a global distribution agreement and partnership with Microsemi Corporation - a global provider of semiconductor products differentiated by power, security, reliability and performance. Microsemi's comprehensive portfolio features many of the company's products including the SmartFusion2 and IGLOO2 product families, timing and synchronisation products, and Power-over-Ethernet products targeting a broad range of applications in defense, security, communications, aerospace and industrial markets.

The Microsemi product line features the company's industry-acclaimed SmartFusion2 System-on-Chip (SoC) FPGAs and IGLOO2 FPGA devices. The SmartFusion2 devices integrate a non-volatile flash based FPGA with a full-feature microcontroller subsystem, enhanced FPGA fabric and high-speed serial and memory interfaces. The IGLOO2 FPGAs integrate a fourth generation flash-based FPGA fabric with high-performance communications interfaces on a single chip, specifically targeted at the cost-optimised FPGA market with up to 150K logic elements. In addition to the SmartFusion2 and IGLOO2 FPGA devices, Mouser will also stock a variety of the company's switching ICs and timing and synchronisation ICs to round off Microsemi's comprehensive portfolio of semiconductor and system products now available to Mouser customers.

Phil Sansone, Microsemi Vice President of Global Distribution Sales, says: "Adding Mouser Electronics as a global channel partner truly positions Microsemi to better support our customers and enhance our worldwide distribution network. Not only will we be able to satisfy more of the requirements of our existing customers, but leveraging Mouser's excellent design and supply-chain services and logistics support, we can drive new growth opportunities, expand our global presence and get our products into the hands of developers even faster."

This new distribution agreement provides Mouser Electronics' customers with a greater selection of FPGA and semiconductor products to choose from, and also gains them access to Microsemi's extensive worldwide design and support infrastructure.

Jeff Newell, Mouser Senior Vice President of Products, says: "Microsemi's world-class portfolio of unique, high-performance semiconductors and system solutions aligns well with our current line card and customer base. We look forward to a successful, long-term relationship as we deliver their innovative products, technologies and services to our engineering community."
