Kistler is announced the Type 9260AA, a portable multi-component force plate, designed to make high-accuracy measurements of ground reaction force, moment and centre of pressure, in support of clinical gait, running and balance analysis applications.
Design of the Kistler Type 9260AA incorporates the use of a multi-component piezoelectric force sensor, offering a Fz measurement range of up to 5kN, while ensuring very low cross-talk and excellent centre of pressure (COP) accuracy. The force plate features a compact, lightweight aluminium composite top for a total weight of less than 22 pounds (10 kilograms), allowing for portable use on any flat surface. The top plate may also be covered with any type of flooring material without negative effects on offset or linearity.
The unit is available in two sizes, as either the Type 9260AA6 (500 × 600mm) or the Type 9260AA3 (500 × 300mm). The sensor connector is located underneath the force plate, allowing for ease of installation with reduced set-up time and maintenance costs. Kistler says that its long-term product reliability and stability result in a lower overall cost of ownership, as compared with traditional measurement systems.
