Murex names new product manager for gas equipment
Murex Welding Products has appointed Paul Woodford as Product Manager for gas equipment. He took up his new role at the beginning of October 2007 and is working with existing Product Manager David Fell in preparation for David's retirement in May 2008.
Paul has worked in a number of departments within the company and has a practical background as well as distributor sales experience. He joined the ESAB group in 1998 as a Production Operative before moving to the position of Commercial Officer in the Sales Office In 2000. He then became part of the Customer Systems Support team and subsequently Commercial Officer. Having left the ESAB Group to gain experience working with an authorised distributor, Paul returned to ESAB as Product Manager for Solid Wires in 2004.
In his new role, Paul will be responsible for the established and respected Murex Saffire brand of gas welding and cutting equipment in the UK and will replace David Fell on the BSI (British Standard Institute) Gas Equipment Standards Committee. He says: "I look forward to the challenge and working alongside David Fell for six months or so will be totally invaluable." Indeed, David Fell has 40 years or more of experience in the field of gas equipment, so his will be a tough act to follow!
