Copa-Data has celebrated its 20th anniversary in the famous palace Schloss Leopoldskron palace near its headquarters in Salzburg. 280 customers, press and international staff celebrated the independent industrial software provider's achievements.
Thomas Punzenberger, CEO and company founder, commented: "Twenty years is a remarkable age in this industry. This is also a good moment to take the next step: With zenOn, we want to become the biggest independent SCADA producer worldwide.
"The term SCADA has been blurred over the last 30 years - the 'control' part is diminished. Over the next 20 years I see zenOn pushing the boundaries of SCADA with more integrated control and modular tools, so perhaps 'SCADADIO' is a better term – that is, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Data Interpretation and Optimisation."
Copa-Data grew from the vision of Thomas Punzenberger to create platform-independent HMI/SCADA software that gives its users 'freedom at work'. Today, 20 years later, this vision has developed into a leading industrial software provider that operates worldwide from its headquarters in Salzburg with more than 50,000 installed systems across all sectors.
The anniversary celebrations also served to launch the latest version of Copa-Data's SCADA/HMI software zenOn version 6.21, with presentations about the new optimised user interface and what is believed to be the first and only HMI/SCADA software to earn the 'Certified for Windows Vista' quality seal from Microsoft.
