New customer web tool, much more than just online orderingOnline purchasing is now standard commercial practice, but Henkel has made sure its new facility does much more besides. Henkel POD is a secure, convenient and easy to use web tool for all product brands including Loctite, Teroson and Bonderite. POD saves customers’ time, provides flexibility and access to a wealth of information, every step of the way. And early statistics confirm POD is already proving to be a real winner.

Once the customer has registered, they have access to a cleverly structured site. Orders can be made instantly or created over time and stored for eventual upload. In addition to product availability, pricing and packaging options, customers can download MSDS and technical data sheets and store favourites. Technical support, as ever, is a vital Henkel component so at any point the visitor can seek guidance on the best product for the application as well as browse the full product catalogue.

Order tracking is comprehensive, with three months to view and access to archives. It provides a high level of detail including the date of manufacture, batch number, shelf life and best before date for each product. Any text in red, in this section and across the site, indicates further information is available. All the customer has to do is click to drill down.

Henkel’s Helen Birch, who is responsible for spreading the word on the new facility and POD training, explains: “The response to POD has been very positive. The scope of the site is what really grabs people. Many have taken to it straight away, others have asked for some training. Normally within fifteen minutes they have the knowledge they need.”
