Pilz coded safety switches with RFID transponder technology combine maximum manipulation protection with the smallest space requirement
Perhaps the most interesting new feature of this recently released safety switch from Pilz is its small size. For space-critical applications, where the installation height is a key factor, machine builders should note that the company's PSENcode low profile actuator is just 3 mm high and is currently claimed to be the world's lowest profile actuator.
The PSENcode low profile actuator supplements the existing Pilz compact or slimline design of safety switches and can be used in combination with them. Due to its extremely low height, says Pilz, it is well suited for applications in which space is critical. The actuator has a stick or screw-on design and can therefore be used on plexiglass. A safe switching distance of 6 mm, irrespective of the base, is a further benefit to machine designers and thanks to its versatile installation options, users have the advantage of greater freedoms in machine design too says the company.
The coded safety switches provide safe monitoring up to PL e of EN ISO 13489-1 or SIL CL 3 of EN/IEC 6206. In this case the PSENcode safely monitors up to three positions, which can be safely differentiated by the sensor. Integrated evaluation and a reduction in the number of safe inputs on the device make the PSENcode safety switch an economical solution according to PIlz.
