IDS now offers more than 20 new C-mount lenses with resolutions of 5, 8 and 10 MP as well as different focal lengths and optical classes
Imaging Development Systems (IDS) says that its lenses are characterised by "a very good price-performance ratio". and that it is not only important to choose the right camera: the lens also has a decisive influence on the image quality too. Additionally, focal length, resolution and aperture should also be taken into account. The IDS lenses are suitable for different sensor sizes (from ½ inch to 1.1 inch) and allow focal lengths of between 4 mm to 75mm, depending on the model specified, and the company notes that machine and system builders can select aperture and focus that can be fixed mechanically if required. This, says IDS, ensures that brightness and image quality remain constant even if the lens is exposed to vibrations.
IDS points out that its customers can specify all their required components from camera to lens from a single supplier, and that a configurator on the company’s webstore is designed to help machine and system builders select the right model.
