New company dedicated to cobot safety and machine safety
Cobots and Machinery Safety Ltd is a new company formed by Matt Androsiuk CMSE CECE, who previously worked for a market-leading machinery safety specialist. Matt is a Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) and a Certified Expert in CE Marking (CECE) with over 18 years' experience in industrial machinery, safety consultancy and training.
"The market for collaborative robots (cobots) is developing rapidly, with applications in a diverse array of industries. While the cobot suppliers sometimes portray cobots as 'inherently safe', in truth a certain amount of care and attention must be paid to each application to ensure that there are no unacceptable risks to people who could come into contact with the robot or its payload. Indeed, cobot applications should comply with both EN ISO 10218-2 (Robots and robotic devices - Safety requirements for industrial robots - Part 2: Robot systems and integration) and ISO TS 15066 (Robots and robotic devices - Collaborative robots). This is where Matt's experience in developing safe cobot applications is so valuable.
Machinery safety services
In addition to his expertise in cobot safety, Matt also has experience and is competent to conduct machinery risk assessments, PUWER assessments, CE marking of machinery, design of safety-related control systems, preparation of Safety Requirement Specifications, and compiling Machinery Directive Technical Files. He also supports customers with their legal safety requirements.
Training
