New energy efficient compressor and blower at The Energy Event

Following two decades of development, Atlas Copco is an industry authority on the benefits of using fully integrated VSD systems, with its research claiming that UK industry stands to save over 16.5 million kWh1 of energy in 2012 as a result of using the company's energy efficient VSD compressors (based on typical 25 per cent average saving on energy, and 4000 running hours per annum when a VSD compressor is compared with a fixed-speed compressor). Visitors to the company's stand can find out why a fully integrated VSD system provides optimum performance in terms of output and energy efficiency for rotary screw compressors and their ancillaries, when air demand is variable throughout the production process.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to learn about Atlas Copco's energy efficient technology, including its ZS+ oil-free rotary screw blower range, which offers up to 30 per cent energy efficiency, as well as the company's recently launched GA30-90 kW oil-injected screw compressor range which offers significant improvements in sustainability and reliability, in addition to performance increases of up to 10 per cent.

In addition, Atlas Copco experts will be on hand to discuss its retrofit energy recovery kits available for its GA11-90 rotary screw compressors, which can achieve up to 94 per cent energy recovery in the form of hot outlet water at temperatures of up to 90degC. Visitors will also be able to learn about other energy saving options, such as Atlas Copco's free Health Check service, AIRScan - a highly accurate airnet survey report system designed to pinpoint any energy drains - and AIRConnect, an automated 24/7 internet-based remote monitoring system for multiple stationary compressor installations.
