New Harting industrial Ethernet switches at Drives & Control

The Harting Technology Group will focus on Industry 4.0 and the "Internet of Things' (IoT) at this year's Drives & Control show (stand D360) taking place from 12-14 April at the NEC in Birmingham. Skilled in the fields of electrical, electronic and optical connection, transmission and networking, Harting will be showcasing its Ethernet switches and rugged network systems at this year's event.

A major new development is the MICA ruggedised computer, being shown for the first time in the UK. This device is designed as a key element in delivery of Industry 4.0, and HARTING expects to see considerable interest in its UK debut.

An extensive range of networking devices will be on display including the fully managed Ha-VIS mCon 3000 Ethernet switch, which enables the connection of up to 10 network devices over RJ45 ports. Designed for effective, industrial and individual use, the mCon 3000 range is small and robust in a metal housing with an external SD card for configuration storage.

The Harting Ha-VIS RFID (radio frequency identification) range will also be on show. Suitable for use in almost any industrial application, the fully integrated range brings you the complete system from a single source. The Harting RFID product portfolio provides long read range capabilities with 50G Shock resistance, along with the opportunity of a tailored reading zone with the Harting LOCFIELD antenna.

Natalie Thomas, Marketing Manager at Harting, says: "The Drives and Controls show is an excellent platform for us to meet engineers in this rapidly expanding area. As the "Internet of Things' matures into the core of Industry 4.0, we are seeing significant demand for ruggedised networking devices and high-performance RFID solutions. These are not only helping to gather and transmit higher volumes of performance data and control signals, but doing so across cheaper, more widely available infrastructure."

Harting Customised Solutions will also be on show, which offers bespoke cable assemblies, kitting and box builds. For further information about Harting at this year's Drives & Control show visit www.harting.co.uk.
