The new range of c300 and p300 controllers from Lenze are designed to be cost-effective and easy to integrate within machines and automation processes having centralised control. The two models are for panel mounting with HMI visualisation or for DIN rail mounting in the control cabinet. Both models use the same operating system based around PLC logic control using IEC 61131 and CoDeSys standards. Motion control is to the PLC open standard and there is also integrated visualisation software with Lenze's VisiWinNET suite. All models have an 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and a Windows 7 operating system.
The p300 controllers (pictured top) have a colour touchscreen available in three sizes: 4.3, 7 and 10.4 inches. Particularly for smaller-scale machines, the ability to combine control and visualisation in one unit leads to savings in build costs.
Lenze's c300 controllers (pictured right) are designed for mounting to a DIN rail in the control cabinet. Using a high-speed backplane bus they can be plugged together with up to 64 stations of I/O. This makes a very compact and space saving assembly with reduced wiring time.As all models of the c300 and p300 have no battery or cooling fan, they are maintenance-free. Reliability is assured through an integrated UPS. There are ports for Ethernet, CAN and USB, with EtherCAT to follow later in 2014. Data can be transferred using an SD card and the front face can be customised to order.
