Lenze is extending its 8400 range of frequency inverters, adding new models and features. Within the range are the simple and low-cost BaseLine models rated up to 3kW, the standard StateLine models rated to 11kW and the new HighLine models with integrated point-to-point positioning, also rated up to 11kW. Space-saving mounting options are available, approvals include UL and RoHS, and two alternative control panels are offered.
'Cold plate' versions are supplied without a heatsink and therefore require 35mm less installation depth. However, the surface onto which the inverters are mounted needs to have a high thermal mass or be externally cooled. The same depth reduction can be achieved by 'Push through' versions wherein the inverter heatsink sits outside of the control panel. Not only does this save panel space, but it reduces panel cooling requirements, as the majority of the lost energy is external to the cabinet.
8400 StateLine and HighLine models have a CANopen port integrated as standard. The new HighLine models are recommended for applications such as rotary indexing tables, roller doors and positioning tasks in warehouse systems. Up to 16 positions and associated travel profiles can be stored in the inverter. High positioning accuracy is achieved by evaluation of a two-track encoder signal at up to 100Hz.
The 8400 frequency inverter range is part of the Lenze L-force product portfolio from Lenze. Integrated and standard CAN connections allow simple connection to other drives and devices such as I/O and HMI. Additional fieldbus connections such as Profibus can be added as a plug-in option. The wide range of models and functionality leads to selections that are 'Rightsized' for the application, thereby saving money and increasing performance.
