FISO Technologies Inc, a subsidiary of Roctest Ltd and a leading manufacturer of high-quality fibre-optic sensors and measurement systems for challenging and demanding applications, is introducing the FPI-HR-OEM signal conditioner. This new multiparameter signal conditioner includes significant technical improvements compared with the previous generation in a smaller and easier to integrate package. Designed to measure two parameters simultaneously (out of temperature, pressure, strain, displacement, and refractive index), the FPI-HR-OEM is intended for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) applications in markets such as the industrial, scientific, energy, oil and gas and medical sectors.
The FPI-HR-OEM fibre-optic signal conditioner is compatible with most of FISO's fibre-optic sensors and is said to be the fastest device available for OEM applications. Its maximum measuring speed of 250Hz per channel allows for better process control and reaction time.
Based on patented White-Light Interferometry Technology, the FPI-HR-OEM is the first product in a new generation of signal conditioners for industrial and medical applications. The FPIHR-OEM is half the size of FISO's single-channel signal conditioner (FTI-10) and features a sampling rate 25 times faster, a resolution 10 times better and a temperature response time up to 1000 times faster. In addition, the FPI-HR-OEM features an optional smart connector that allows higher accuracy and automatic sensor identification without the need for entering gauge factor numbers manually. The built-in temperature compensation system of the FPI-HR-OEM also maintains the accuracy when the temperature of the test environment varies.
According to Francois Pelletier, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at FISO Technologies, "This new product, designed for OEMs, fits perfectly into our product development and business strategy. Our goal is to manufacture innovative devices for industrial and medical customers by offering cost-effective and easy-to-integrate solutions, hence making fibre-optic sensors suitable for more high volume applications."
Luc Langlois, Product Line Manager at FISO, adds: "The FPI-HR-OEM signal conditioner represents a significant technology breakthrough as it fulfils specific technical requirements of OEM applications such as multiparameter measurements, better accuracy, and fast measurements - all within a very small form factor that can be easily integrated into a complete end-user product. This new platform was developed specifically to meet the requirements of the markets that FISO has served since 1994. In the coming months we will launch additional modules to complement this platform.".
