New range of circular 7/8-inch moulded connectors
Motion 29 is introducing a new range of circular 7/8inch moulded connectors. Capable of carrying a current of 12A at 300V, as well as low-level signals for instrumentation, the Shield connector is available with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 14 poles and comes in both male and female versions.
7/8inch connectors were first utilised in the 1960s by the automotive industry for use on their production lines, as they made the replacement of solenoid valves and limit switches much easier. Since then they have become a vital component for distributing power and data in industrial automation applications.
Motion29 director, Andrew Wilkinson, states: "We have worked closely with Shield to devise a connector solution for every possible application. The new range is available with either a straight or moulded body and in a choice of polyurethane or PVC cable. A wide selection of receptacles for the connectors is available to fulfil all the requirements of the end user."
Motion29's new range is compatible with existing 7/8inch connectors on the market and is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments. Rated waterproof to IP68, the connector is competitively priced and suitable for many industrial applications.
