Heidenhain (GB) has appointed Absolute Machine Tool Services Ltd, 12 Sandalwood Avenue, Motherwell, ML1 5FN as its authorised sales and service distributor in Scotland with effect from April 2015. David McCafferty may be contacted for further information on [email protected].
Four engineers - Stuart Mitchell, John Douglas, Dougie Beaton and Jack Cowell - started Absolute MTS at the end of 2011 to service virtually any make and size of machine tool operating in factories throughout Scotland. They have since taken on two further members of staff and are now expanding into sales. Heidenhain's digital readouts as well as its linear, angle and rotary encoders are the first products to be offered by the Scottish firm.
Neil Prescott, managing director of Heidenhain (GB) says: "We are pleased to appoint Absolute MTS to promote and support our products in Scotland, as the company is highly experienced and a rapidly growing force in the machine tool service sector.
"Our distributors around the UK undergo specialist training to sell and service the majority of Heidenhain products. Additionally, they are equipped with our latest test and diagnostics equipment and have access to our dedicated technical databases.
"All companies we appoint are therefore able to get machines that incorporate our controls and positional feedback systems up and running very quickly. We believe that Absolute MTS will deliver real benefits for our Scottish customer base, providing local sales and service backed by extensive technical expertise."
