Multi-tasking flow meter from SICK is a cost saving device, check it out here
The FTMg energy consumption flow meter from SICK measures gas flow and temperature as well as the process pressure, a multi-tasking facility that SICK says is a real cost saving benefit. The unit provides high measurement dynamics and low pressure loss, and is said to measure non-corrosive gases with great efficiency. The company says that "the contrast-rich colour display enables easy operation of the FTMg and allows for the representation of several measured values as a process diagram. Internal data logging over seven days and integrated static evaluation to help detect even the smallest leaks in a pneumatic system".
PoE is also said to enable simple web-based connection to a PC or a cloud to make energy consumption more transparent. All measurement data can be transmitted via IO-Link or with switching and analog signals.
The new unit measures compressed air and non-corrosive gases such as argon, helium, carbon dioxide and nitrogen using a calorimetric measurement principle with a measurement accuracy of ± 3% M.V. and ± 0.3% M.E.V. The measurement of gas flow and temperature as well as process pressure and energy consumption is achieved with only one sensor and with low pressure loss. An additional feature cited by SICK is that the unit provides high measurement dynamics for both cylinder and leakage monitoring.
SICK says that the new flow meter is well suited to consumption and leakage monitoring in compressed air systems, the monitoring of the energy consumption of compressed air in the supply network and the measurement of inert gases in packaging with modified atmospheres in the food and beverage industry. Flow measurement of non-corrosive gases such as Ar, He, CO2, N2 is also catered for.
