New Siemens Sirius 3RK3 modular safety system

The modular design of the Sirius 3RK3 safety system enables users to save costs since they only have to purchase those devices that are really necessary for the application. At the same time, they can add more functions to the system if the application changes.

The core of the system is the central unit with eight safety-related inputs, one safety-related relay output, and one safety-related solid-state output. In addition, users can connect up to seven expansion modules that can read in and output further safety functions. A DP interface module enables communication with higher-level controllers via Profibus.

With the help of the MSS ES parameterization software, a component part of the system, input and output signals are set and device functions are interconnected. The tedious wiring previously associated with this becomes a thing of the past, so time and costs are saved.
