New standard: BS EN 60974 for welding equipment inspection
If you use arc welding equipment, you should be aware that BSI has just published BS EN 60974-4:2007 Arc welding equipment. In-service inspection and testing. This part of BS EN 60974 specifies test procedures for in-service inspection and inspection after repairs have been performed, with a view to ensuring the electrical safety of the equipment. These test procedures are also applicable for maintenance.
The standard is applicable to power sources together with ancillary equipment for arc welding, cutting and allied processes built in conformity with IEC 60974-1.
