New torches offer major benefits for oxy-fuel cutting

ESAB Cutting Systems is introducing the new Cooljet BIE and Mulitjet BIF cutting torches for highly reliable and productive oxy-fuel cutting operations. Between them, these next-generation torches are suitable for virtually all oxy-fuel cutting applications.

New torches offer major benefits for oxy-fuel cutting

Higher cutting speeds, lower maintenance, longer life and high safety are some of the key benefits of Cooljet BIE torch. Designed for use on all gas cutting machines, the Cooljet BIE gives better heat conductivity and more efficient mixture of cutting gases. The valve body now includes a Coolflow valve so that during pre-heating a small amount of heating oxygen flows into the cutting oxygen channel. This stops hot gases steaming back in the torch, resulting in more efficient cooling and no build-up of molten metal or spray. An injector inside the valve body provides more efficient mixing of the fuel gases and the heating oxygen.

The Multijet BIF torch, the latest version of this renowned product family, has automatic internal ignition to provide dramatic improvements in oxy-fuel cutting. Designed for a 3-300mm material thickness cutting range, the internal ignition is safer to use than torches with conventional external ignition.

In addition, the torch is compact and highly reliable, and the design also contributes to lower maintenance requirements and greater operational reliability.

Designed to be retrofitted to existing ESAB machines, the Multijet BIF can also be used for flame and cutting process control applications.

New literature on both products is available available from ESAB Cutting Systems.
