New Type 2 and Type 4 IP69K safety light guards from ifm
ifm electronic is launching new IP69K safety light guards for protecting personnel from machinery hazards in wet areas or those where washdowns are necessary. The waterproof light curtains and grids are enclosed in a clear tube that minimises dirt traps and makes it easier to keep them clean, even with high-pressure or steam cleaners. This tube has been tested by ecolab to ensure resistance to common cleaning fluids.
The IP69K safety light curtains can be supplied in 23 different variants, from 14mm resolution for finger detection to 30mm resolution, and for protecting areas from 120mm to over 1.5m in height, and with sensing ranges to cover widths up to 15m. Type 2 and Type 4 devices are offered, making the choice extensive. All the ifm IP69K safety light guards comply with the latest standards, eg SIL2 or SIL3 to IEC 61508 (or IEC 62061 / EN 62061) or PLd or PLe to EN ISO 13849-1.
In addition, P69K safety light grids are available in six versions: Type 2 (SIL2, PLd) or Type 4 (SIL3, PLe) covering areas up to 10m wide with two, three or four beams.
