New Type 4 safety light curtains with 20m range
ifm electronic is launching new Type 4 safety light curtains with 20m range. On long machines, where access could be possible along the entire length, some light curtains do not have the range to protect those nearby from straying into the danger zone. Now with a range up to an impressive 20m, ifm electronic offers machine builders and users alike a solution to this problem.
These new longer-range additions to the OY range of safety light curtains meet Type 4 to IEC 61496, SIL3 to IEC 61508 and PLe to EN ISO 13849-1, and complement the devices launched earlier in 2009 the elegant slimline housings measuring just 28 x 30mm.
The long-range light guards can be supplied with resolutions of 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm or 90mm, and with protected area heights ranging from 160 to 1510mm in 150mm increments.
OY series light curtains and grids are available as Type 2 or Type 4 devices to IEC 61496 in heights from 160 to 1510mm covering distances up to 20m with resolutions from 14mm to 90mm. All models feature a very slim housing, measuring only 28 x 30mm, and the beams are incorporated right up to the end of the housing, which allows installation without any deadband.
