Astrosyn International Technology is launching the ultra-thin hybrid stepper motor MY9401-07N with a body length of only 9mm, which should prove particularly useful for applications where axial space is severely restricted.
New injection moulding techniques have been used to make more space available internally, enabling the motors to be thinner while producing greater torque. Efficiency is also increased by 30 per cent because the space-saving design enables the use of more windings with lower resistance, resulting in a 27 per cent reduction in temperature rise.
Astrosyn's new model MY9401-07N is a size 23 rare earth hybrid stepper motor with a body length of only 9mm. The bipolar wound 2.2A motor has a very smooth rotary movement due to the 1.8deg full step angle. Exceptionally compact, the MY9401-07N weighs only 80g but, despite that, it is a precision-built motor with a holding torque of 8Ncm.
The flat profile is particularly beneficial in applications such as instruments, display panels, amusement machines, security cameras, semiconductor manufacture and medical equipment. Threaded mounting holes are provided on the motor flange and a range of options is available to customise the output shaft.
