New WAGO Epsitron power supplies are compact and cost-effective

WAGO is introducing two new power supply ranges that provide additional functionality to suit a wider range of applications such as vending, slot and coffee machines, as well as heating controls and ventilation systems.

New WAGO Epsitron power supplies are compact and cost-effective

The new Epsitron Eco range includes a compact, cost-effective option, while the Epsitron Classic series has undergone a redesign, making the device 45 per cent slimmer yet retaining its powerful functionality.

Epsitron Eco is a robust power supply for 24V DC applications where control cabinet space is at a premium. It also conforms to EN 60335, bringing industrial power supply capabilities into consumer appliances such as vending machines and cash machines.

The power supply features a robust metal housing to withstand harsh treatment and can be mounted on a DIN rail or screw-fixed horizontally, vertically or overhead.

The power supply provides a wide input voltage range of 90-264V AC. This flexibility allows mass-produced machines to operate on different power networks in Europe, America or Asia with no need for conversions or modifications. In addition, its high input voltage range means increased tolerance to voltage fluctuations, leading to high reliability.

Voltage availability is indicated via a green LED, while a red LED indicates an overvoltage. This simplifies start-up and provides maintenance personnel with a clear indication of system or machine status.

Slimmer Classic power supply

WAGO's redesigned Classic power supply is slimmer than previous generations and offers up to 93 per cent efficiency. An operating temperature range of -25C to +70degC makes it suitable for applications including industrial machines and equipment, process control and building automation. Ranging from 25 to 960W, the Classic power supplies provide 12, 24 and 48V DC nominal outputs. The power supplies are universally compatible with all standard power grids found worldwide.

Epsitron Classic's optional integrated TopBoost function provides a brief power surge in the event of a secondary short circuit or overload by multiplying the nominal current, thereby ensuring effective secondary side fusing via traditional low-cost circuit breakers for improved safety.

Connections on the Eco and Classic power supplies are kept secure with WAGO's Cage Clamp Spring Pressure Connection Technology, which provides fast, vibration-proof and maintenance-free termination of solid, fine-stranded or ferruled conductors. This not only ensures that wiring is much faster, but also that connections are indefinitely held in place even in extreme environments, for example in heavy industrial, marine or offshore applications.
