Newly published: BS EN ISO 5817:2007 for welding quality
BSI has published BS EN ISO 5817:2007 Welding. Fusion-welded joints in steel, nickel, titanium and their alloys (beam welding excluded). Quality levels for imperfections.
BS EN ISO 5817 provides quality levels of imperfections in fusion-welded joints (except for beam welding) in all types of steel, nickel, titanium and their alloys. It applies to material thicknesses above 0.5mm and covers fully penetrated butt welds and all fillet welds.
BSI says that the principles contained within this international standard may also be applied to partial-penetration butt welds.
