Nitrogen purging system keeps critical equipment dry

Brownell's NEPS1900 rack-mounted automatic dry nitrogen purging system is designed to simplify and improve efficiency of this process for humidity removal and oxygen inhibition of electronic, optical and high-voltage equipment, instruments, housings/storage containers and more.

Nitrogen purging system keeps critical equipment dry

User-programmable and with dewpoint and pressure readout, it is a complete fully-contained system that fits standard 19inch racking, yet it is portable and robust. Its easy-to-use single-connection operation not only speeds set-up but also improves purging effectiveness, while a host of advanced capabilities and functionality significantly enhances purging process control.

Ready for use by simply connecting a dry gas source to the purge connection, the use of a single pipe connection controls and disperses the gas throughout the instrument or system being purged and isolates the gas during depressurisation.

No escape

Single-connection purging also eliminates the 'pocketing' problem of traditional systems where gas can flow too easily from an entry to an outlet. The NEPS1900's choice of three selectable pressure cycles further ensures that the dry gas influences all the test space volume.

During the process, when the pre-selected level is achieved, the supply gas is isolated and an internal control valve allows the gas to flow to the exhaust port where the dewpoint of the mixed air/gas is measured. The purging continues until the desired dewpoint protection has been achieved.

Simple-to-use selectable programming can be set to view process control variables and display dewpoint measurements in degC or degF with pressure in kPa or psi. Four built-in leak testing capabilities are selectable to ensure verification of the sealing standard of the equipment to be purged and the system's dewpoint monitor can check the all-important gas dryness before purging.

High humidity and water vapour can have a deleterious impact on the use, operation and long-term reliability of many instruments and systems, but is efficiently avoided by effective dry gas purging. The Brownell system can operate from global voltages and frequencies from 100-230V AC at 50-60Hz.
