Drive specialist to present latest products, drive concepts and modern solutions for airport of future
From 9 to 12 November 2021, the international airport industry meets at the 23rd inter airport Europe in Munich. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, the drive specialist from Northern Germany, will be there on Stand 1538, presenting its latest products, drive concepts and modern solutions for the airport of the future.
Baggage handling systems’ operators must reconcile various requirements. In addition to smooth operation, these are primarily energy efficiency, cost pressure, maintainability and flexibility. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, as one of the world’s leading full-service providers of mechanical and electronic drive technology, offers “reliable and efficient solutions for each application in baggage handling systems – from check-in to sorting and from high-speed transport to baggage reclaim”.
Energy efficiency at new level
Concerning energy efficiency, the IE5+ synchronous motor and the new DuoDrive geared motor are of particular interest. With its IE5+ synchronous motor, NORD has already been able to significantly reduce losses, compared to the current IE4 series, it reports.
“The patent-pending DuoDrive goes one step further and sets new standards with regard to performance, installation space and version reduction. At up to 92%, it offers one of the highest geared motor efficiencies on the market for this power class, and also achieves very high systems efficiency in the partial load range. It is thus future-proof and a real cost reducer. This was achieved by completely integrating the IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit – a completely new approach in geared motor design.”
Frequency inverters with high functionality and economic efficiency
In the frequency inverter field, the NORDAC ON is another new NORD product. The smart inverter for decentralised use was specifically developed for interaction with the new IE5+ synchronous motor, and is characterised by an integrated Ethernet interface, full pluggability and a very compact design. “Whether for ProfiNet, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT, the required protocol can be easily set via parameters. Thanks to standardisation, the NORDAC ON also ensures high economic efficiency.”
NORD will also present its NORDAC LINK field distribution system at inter airport Europe 2021. The drive control for flexible close-to-the-motor installation is available as a frequency inverter (up to 7.5 kW) or as a motor starter (up to 3 kW), flexible in configuration and function, freely configurable according to requirements and application, and compatible with all common bus systems. All NORD frequency inverters have a high-performance PLC for functions close to the drive.
Service via app for mobile use
NORD’s NORDCON APP and the NORDAC ACCESS BT Bluetooth stick provide a modern and mobile solution for monitoring, analysis and parameterisation of its drive systems. The dashboard-based visualisation can be used for drive monitoring and fault diagnosis.
“With a help function and rapid access to parameters, parameterisation of drive units is simple and easy,” states NORD. In stand-alone operation, the NORDAC ACCESS BT can also be used for backup and recovery of drive parameters.
