OMC to unveil new products at the Engineering Design Show

OMC is exhibiting at the Engineering Design Show, Ericsson Exhibition Hall, Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 16 and 17 October 2019. On Stand L30, OMC will be showcasing products including its new FDE854LBF fibre optic transmitter and its new cost-effective Mouldshare backlight series, with lower set up costs and MOQs than standard injection moulded backlights.

The new FDE854LBF fibre optic emitter is having its show debut at EDS. Incorporating next-generation infra-red die technology and integral micro-optics, it offers both higher launch powers of up to 30 per cent greater than the previous device generation, plus enhanced consistency from device to device. This far superior performance enables data to be sent over greater distances - up to a kilometre further depending on fibre type and size.

OMC's new Mouldshare backlights are manufactured using innovative sliding-gate injection moulding techniques which significantly reduce the usual set up costs and MOQs associated with producing a new backlight to a customer's desired shape and size. As with OMC's standard injection-moulded backlights, designs can benefit from simulated multi-source (SMS) emitting elements, integral dispersion lenses and incorporated PCBs, while screw holes, mounting clips and other features can be incorporated into the design, reducing cost and enhancing versatility.
