Mechan Controls has been designing and manufacturing machine guard safety products since 1972. With 52 years of experience within the machine safety industry, all products are designed and manufactured in the UK.

One of the latest innovations by Mechan Controls is the trapped key system, which can be configured to the customer's desired access orders - from isolators to door locks, bolts locks and key boxes.

At Machine Building Live, Mechan Controls will also be showcasing the control station. This is a 3- or 4-way button system to either start, stop or reset a machine. With further development, Mechan has added two other functions to the control station. The first is an RFID reset button with a unique 4 billion code FOB key, enabling a user to access a machine without the fear of it being restarted whilst inside.

The second function is a 'tag in, tag out' system, which allows multiple users to access a machine simultaneously without the fear of it being restarted while one or all of the users are inside, according to ISO 14118:2017 "To prevent unexpected (unintended) start-up due to unintended generation of start commands (including those generated within the control system itself)".

Mechan will also be presenting the Grabwire rope pull switch, this comes with some great features, like the dual tension screen to make it easier to install. Options include E-Stop, 3 cable entry points and tensioning kit.

Along with the products highlighted above, Mechan Controls will showcase all its non-contact safety switches from reed switches, solid state, RFID, 4 billion code RFID, OSSD and one of the largest stainless steel collections in the world.
