One-stop shopping at Misumi: over 800 partner brands available

Misumi is promoting its offering that enables machine builders to design and assemble entire applications from a huge selection of Make-to-Order (MTO) parts and standard components. The one-stop shop concept is at the heart of the Misumi range: using the online ordering platform, designers are able to cover the majority of their needs. The decisive factor here is an extensive range that includes products from over 800 partner brands, as well as components from in-house production.

One-stop shopping at Misumi: over 800 partner brands available

It all started in Tokyo in 1963. Misumi has now been represented in Europe for more than 15 years and is a global manufacturer and leading supplier of more than 20 million mechanical components and indirect materials for special mechanical engineering and assembly automation. The company also produces and supplies components for stamping tool construction, injection moulding manufacturing and automation technology. The main target industries are body-in-white, packaging and powertrain production.

At the heart of the Misumi range are the more than 100,000 freely configurable MTO components, some of which can be modelled in up to 0.01mm steps and precisely adapted to specific customer requirements. MTO components are available worldwide from batch size one in consistent quality with short delivery times and without minimum quantity surcharges. The components are configured directly online and CAD models can be downloaded free of charge in more than 40 different native CAD formats. This eliminates the need to create drawings and downstream control of the enquiry process, resulting in significant time savings and process cost reductions of up to 40 per cent.

In addition to MTO components, the Misumi range includes standard components from in-house and external production. More and more of these components are stocked in the central warehouse in Frankfurt am Main and can be delivered to customers in Europe within one day. With its mixture of MTO and standard components, Misumi offers designers a one-stop shop: up to 70 per cent of Misumi customers' needs for an application are met via an online ordering platform for mechanical engineering with a unique scope. This means that configuring and procuring components is particularly fast and cost-saving.

Products from partner companies gain in importance

In order to be able to offer designers the widest possible range of products, Misumi is particularly focusing on the more than 2.6 million components currently available from over 800 partner brands. For the company, it is a matter of opening up new areas and thus enhancing its own range. By including products from partner companies, Misumi today offers, for example, a large number of components from the fields of electrical engineering, pneumatics and sensor technology. In the area of electrical engineering, cable and plug connections as well as control technology are available in the online shop. Misumi offers couplings, linear ball bearings, aluminium construction profiles, toothed belts, pulleys, guide rollers, screws and bolts from various partner brands for mechanical components. In addition to products from renowned Asian suppliers such as THK, Omron and NTN, the Misumi range has also included many renowned European manufacturers such as Halder, Ganter and Weidmueller for some time. In this way, Misumi provides designers with a one-stop shop with more than 20 million different components for special mechanical engineering.
