Digital engineering support during a pandemic: thousands have visited the igus online trade exhibition
An online trade show created by motion plastics specialists igus has so far attracted more than 53,000 visitors since it was launched in May 2020. To date 10,000 of them have taken a guided tour of the site accompanied by an igus expert . The company, which has its UK headquarters in Northampton, has introduced more than 120 new products at the show over the last seven months, all featured on its 400 square metre stand at the company’s headquarters in Cologne, Germany.
Matthew Aldridge, UK Managing Director of igus has held many meetings with UK customers at the online trade show. He says “At these meetings I usually invite a product expert from Cologne to join us, they act as our eyes on the stand and takes us on a tour. Although we prefer face to face contact, this digital alternative has proved extremely popular and very effective and since its launch”.
“This online trade show is now a key part of the digital support we offer our customers, many of whom hold their own one-to-one and group meetings during their visit” added Matthew. The online event can be visited by clicking here.
