Ordering and delivery service for parts and parts from drawings

The expansion of Misumi's European dispatch warehouse to 2000m2, completed at the end of 2012, has allowed a reduction in delivery times, including same-day dispatch, since it was possible to increase the warehouse inventory by 80 per cent. Misumi customers are also benefitting with respect to costs.

The warehouse has 18,000 Misumi catalogue items in stock for immediate dispatch to automation and special machine construction firms. Time is money, especially when you are waiting for important parts. Therefore, these products are offered on the basis of same-day dispatch. Misumi created a separate e-mail address for this process: [email protected]. All orders received by 3pm leave the warehouse the same day. Orders placed after the cut-off time are guaranteed to be dispatched the next day. Products include oil-free bushings, centring bushings, bolts, shaft mounts, set collars and locating bolts - a total of 8000 additional articles.

An assortment of more than 100,000 individually configurable components can be sent from the logistics centre within a period of four days. Configuration and ordering of the parts is easy, both on the Misumi website and through the catalogue. CAD data can also be generated and downloaded from the digital portal.

The large selection and fast delivery of products means that the machine design engineer has more time to construct and order parts from drawings. The Misumi customer can also save time here: more than one million configurable mechanical components for special machine construction and automation technology are available from the Misumi online portal and the paper catalogue.

Starting at quantities of one, with no extra charge for small quantities, parts are freely selectable in 0.01mm steps, with the additional choice of materials, surface treatments or processing options. The end price and the delivery time are displayed immediately. Component drawings are provided as 2D/3D CAD data at no charge.

The assembly of single parts to create modules costs time and manpower. Misumi therefore makes the production process easy for its customers by delivering compact modules instead of single components or partial systems. The purchase of assembled and ready-to-use functional modules helps engineers to concentrate on solving their application-specific problems. The result: a further reduction of the costs of procurement and construction, with constant availability from a reliable source.

No extra charge for small quantities

Customers see the price and delivery time for each selected part; there are no hidden extra costs or minimum order values. In particular, special machine designers often need only one part or specific functional module to implement an innovative solution to a problem. Misumi delivers it, without any ifs and buts.
