OSSD 4 billion code safety switches

See Mechan Controls at MachineBuilding.Live, 4 October 2023, on stand 55

Mechan Controls is always striving to expand its machine guard safety product portfolio, and with the great success of the O-Type safety switches, the company now has a foundation to expand on this range through different contact variations, shapes and sizes to suit all applications.

The ODNK and OSSG are 4 billion uniquely coded RFID safety switches. This means that each switch and actuator are individually coded together in production, so no other O-Type actuator will work with said switch until the correctly coded actuator is brought into position. The RFID technology meets the requirements of type 4 in accordance with EN 14119 high-level coding.

All O-Type safety switches come with RGB advanced LEDs that can be seen from the most hard-to-reach angles and have multiple states to indicate to the user the correct operation. This also includes a misalignment indication so the operator can fit all switches in the correct positions.

Both the ODNK and OSSG are eligible for switching on two faces to make mounting even easier for the user. With a variation of cable lengths and prewired or quick disconnect options. The prewired version has a 2 Amp safety output rating and a 1 Amp rating on the quick disconnect.

The beauty of the O-Type safety switches is that you can connect up to 30 in series, bringing them back to the safety controller (GM1 and GSM) or safety PLC. They can also detect open and short circuits. All these added features make it easier for the user to detect the problem at the machine rather than going back to the control panel.

Industry-standard fixing centres accompanied by a slim line design makes the O-Type safety switches ideal for replacing existing safety switches or mounting to new machines.

Mechan Controls reports that it is not suffering from any lead time issues, therefore delivery on all items would be extremely quick and efficient. Mechan even accommodates for emergency breakdowns to help its customers out of sticky situations.
