Curved jaw coupling accommodates lateral misalignment

Huco (Altra Industrial Motion)visit website

Standard Huco Dynatork Curved Jaw Couplings are suitable for providing flexibility and radial misalignment compensation in high-power transmission systems but are simply not suitable for any application involving lateral misalignment. Thanks to a new addition to this range, however, this is no longer the case.

In common with others in the range, the new Cardan Curved Jaw Coupling achieves its flexibility by means of a resilient, plastic element sandwiched between aluminium hubs. It allows the coupling to transmit high torque – up to 150Nms – with little or no backlash, even in the presence of significant misalignment. The curved jaw design enhances torsional softness and angular misalignment capability.

Suitable for shaft sizes up to 32mm and available on short lead times, the new Cardan Curved Jaw Coupling can be supplied with set screw or clamp fixings. Three hardness levels of plastic element may be specified to suit the torsional softness and shock and vibration damping characteristics required by the application. All are resistant to oils, grease, moisture and the majority of solvents.
