GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, is receiving certificates of compliance from PLCopen, the independent organisation that focuses on the harmonisation of control programming around IEC 61131-2. PLCopen represents various industries and seeks to drive more efficiency in industrial automation through creating specifications and implementations in engineering programming language. GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms fulfilled the requirements in PLCopen Compliance Procedure for Motion Control Library V1.1 and PLCopen Complaince Procedure for Motion Control Part 2 - Extensions, Version 1.0.
Karl Pickan, Product Manager OEM for GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms Europe, says: "It is all about engineering efficiency. Customers will be able to use open standards-based programming functionality. This will decrease any learning curve and speed up the time-to-market for their new products or projects."
PACMotion allows the engineering communities who are already familiar with these IEC languages to very quickly integrate motion control into their existing programs, and to develop new programs quickly and efficiently.
PACMotion uses GE Fanuc Intelligent Platform's award-winning Proficy Machine Edition, an integrated programming environment for machine logic, motion and HMI, all in a single program. A single programming environment allows developers to utilise common tag databases, common scripting, and eliminate all synchronisation logic between separate programs. Many new features, such as motion function blocks, have been added to Proficy Machine Edition in support of PACMotion.
PACMotion serves the needs of high-speed machines with a high number of synchronised axes. Industries needing this feature would include packaging, assembly, woodworking and printing. PACMotion is available immediately. For more information, go to: www.gefanuc.com/pacmotion.
