The Midlands regional sales office of Parker SSD Drives, part of Parker Hannifin, has relocated from Rugby to the company's UK sales headquarters in Warwick. The move follows the acquisition of SSD Drives 18 months ago by the Parker Hannifin Corporation and is said to be an important step forward in developing the organisation's total automation offering, and improving still further the level of sales and technical support provided to customers throughout the UK.
Nigel Steel, the UK Sales Manager for Parker Electromechanical and Drives, says: "Since the acquisition by Parker Hannifin we have steadily developed a far stronger and cohesive business that now provides a comprehensive choice of motion and drives technologies. By bringing together Parker Electromechanical and SSD Drives, we have created an experienced team with the ability to develop solutions for complex applications, choosing from our broad ranges of inverters, permanent magnet servo controllers, motors, precision movement actuators and gearboxes. Similarly, by working alongside Parker experts in pneumatics and hydraulics technology, we have strengthened our position in existing markets and are now able to compete far more aggressively in new and emerging market sectors, such as hybrid machines and renewable energy."
The move to Parker's Warwick headquarters will enable Parker Electromechanical and Drives to draw more effectively on the technical resources of other group operations, helping to enhance customer service still further, and will rationalise the company's office structure; sales and customer support will now be provided to the Midlands from the new offices in Warwick and to the North, including Scotland, and South of England from its existing offices in Bury and Poole, respectively. Manufacturing remains unchanged at the company's UK plant in Littlehampton.
