Parker Hannifin has agreed with Nabtesco Corporation of Japan to market and sell Nabtesco's range of advanced air dryers for use in commercial vehicles. These dryers are used in compressed air systems to improve the performance and safety of air braking units and to reduce operator maintenance costs.
In the agreement, Parker's Racor Division and Nabtesco's Automotive Products Company will collaborate to introduce air dryers into the medium- and heavy-duty truck market in North and South America.
Braking systems used in commercial vehicles normally draw air generated by onboard compressors. The nature of the operating environment, however, can lead to the generation of moisture in air lines that, in turn, can freeze or cause rust to form on internal metal surfaces. Over time, these problems can lead to increased maintenance costs, reduced braking efficiency and potentially failure in braking systems. The Nabtesco air dryer is claimed to remove moisture effectively from the compressed air system and deliver clean, dry air into the brakes.
Peter Popoff, President of the Parker Filtration Group, explains: "Nabtesco is recognised as the market leader for commercial vehicle air dryers in Japan. We welcome their technical expertise and innovative, high-quality products that will allow Parker to expand its current business in the commercial vehicle sector."
Mr Takuma Segawa, Executive Officer and President of the Automotive Products Company, Nabtesco Corporation, adds: "For nearly 40 years, Parker Racor has been dedicated to advancing the technology of engine and mobile equipment filtration around the world. We are pleased that our state-of-the-art air dryer systems will now be available in the Americas, and are satisfied and delighted to be associated with the Parker brand and popular Racor products."
